On the beautiful sandy-beached shores of Lake Huron
in Ontario, Canada, this popular resort offers all the beauty and
majesty that surrounds this Great Lake. One of the resorts
features is its 1,600 feet of beautiful sandy beach.
Huron County is a patchwork of rural Canadian towns, farm landscapes,
parks and, of course, Lake Huron. Whether you want to languish in
the sun on the resorts sparkling beach, sample five star cuisine
at area restaurants, visit one of the many museums and attractions,
experience world-class theatre, go hiking or fishing, relax at a
country inn, cycle the picturesque road and heritage streetscapes,
or go
golfing or sailing, this is a vacation destination of charm, culture,
beauty, and endless possibilities!
Just five miles south of the resort is the town of Goderich, legendary
because it was claimed to be The prettiest town in Canada!
by Queen Elizabeth II during a visit. Here you can see the sun set
twice in one evening. The locals tell visitors to look towards
the towns unique cliff top location to solve this sun-sensational
puzzle.
Steeped in historical charm and small-town splendor, the Port of
Goderich is rich with history. The town and port was founded in
1827 by the Canada Company for the purpose of settling one million
acres of land along the shores of Lake Huron. One of the most interesting
places to visit is the unique square. With flower-draped hanging
baskets and curbside planters, the octagonal square is home to the
County Court House and 150 businesses and shops.
Huron County is a true fishermans paradise where the cold
water species such as rainbow trout, Chinook, coho salmon, yellow
perch, smallmouth bass, and walleye can be pulled from Lake Huron;
brook and brown trout from cold water rivers; and smallmouth bass,
panfish, and northern pike from the warm water rivers and lakes. |
