Resort Profile

Surrounded by the Cascade Mountains and only a few minutes from downtown Seattle, Tall Chief offers its guests a variety of recreational amenities in addition to the opportunity for rural and urban fun.

Horticulturists will enjoy seeing the herbs, sedums, succulents, and edible and fragrant flowers in the 17 gardens and greenhouses at the Herbfarm in Fall City. Featured are the flowers and trees in the Shakespearean theme garden. Traveling along SR 202 between Fall City and Snoqualmie, be sure to stop to see the Snoqualmie Falls, where the river water plunges 268 feet, 100 feet more than at Niagara Falls. The Snoqualmie Falls Park sits above an underground power plant that often makes use of the water from the falls. The fantastic scenery and beauty of the falls can be seen from a restaurant. If you choose, you can get a uniquely different view by hiking along one of the trails that lead into the canyon.

You’ll find the town of North Bend between Snoqualmie Pass and the western slopes of the Cascades and straddling the South Fork of the Snoqualmie River. The alpine motif of the mountains was evident in episodes of the TV series “Twin Peaks” that was filmed in North Bend and Snoqualmie. For a spectacular view, go up the 4-mile trail to the summit of nearby Mount Si. Shoppers will enjoy browsing through the specialty shops at Gilman Village in Issaquah. Be sure to visit the attractive business district of the town and walk past the more than 30 relocated and restored historic buildings. The entire family will enjoy a stop at the Waterworks Park, the Northwest’s largest water theme park.

Seattle may be one of the most beautiful cities in the Northwest. The “Emerald City” sits between the Olympic and Cascade Mountains and is surrounded by water. Not only does it offer the normal big-city atmosphere, but it also has excellent outdoor recreational facilities and beautiful parks.
