A wide variety of year-round activities at the resort
and surrounding regions await the guests of Red River Ranch RV Resort,
located in the south-central part of Oklahoma and just a few miles
from the Dallas-Ft. Worth Metroplex.
Plan to see more than 2,000 exotic animals as you drive along an
8-mile scenic drive through the Arbuckle Mountains in nearby Arbuckle
Wilderness. You can purchase food at the gate as you enter and feed
some animals that enjoy free range in the 400-acre park. Live entertainment,
a petting zoo, and a playground, as well as rides on camels, go-carts,
and paddleboats are all a part of the fun for the whole family.
At Davis, you can visit Turner Falls Park, the state's oldest park.
Here a 77-foot waterfall, geological wonders, natural swimming pools
and springs, and a view of the beautiful canyon region are all awaiting
your visit. Another option is to take a drive along U.S. 177 and
SR 7 and find the beginning of the Chickasaw National Recreation
Area at Sulphur. The Chickasaw Nation has a casino in Thackerville,
offering a wide variety of opportunities to try your luck. Nearby
Gainesville has the huge Prime Outlets, many antique shops, a historic
depot, and Frank Buck Zoo.
Muenster, Texas offers authentic German food and crafts, especially
during Germanfest, the last weekend of April. Golfers will find
several great courses nearby as well. Meanwhile, nature lovers and
history buffs will enjoy a visit to Lake Murray State Park near
Ardmore. The Tucker Tower Nature Center features Tucker Tower, overlooking
Lake Murray. Currently a museum, this medieval-style fortress was
originally built as a governor's retreat but stood unused for years.
