On Mille Lacs Lake, fishing launches take anglers out on large boats, primarily for walleye. There are regularly scheduled morning, afternoon, full-day, and evening trips daily throughout the summer season beginning with the mid-May fishing opener. One of the best ways to explore Minnesota is by hiking her many walking paths and wilderness trails in 65 state parks, state forests, and the Chippewa and Superior National Forests. Mille Lacs Kathio State Park is just a few miles west of the resort and offers 35 miles of hiking trails, meadows, and forests on the west side of the lake. Climb to the top of a 100-foot tower for a spectacular view of the lake below.
