Resort Profile

Saginaw Bay Resort is the perfect site for an active family getaway, providing on-site and nearby access to a wide variety of water sports and other activities for fun-filled adventures. This area is centrally located on the eastern coast of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula and is known as the “Gateway to Lake Huron,” the pride of the Sunrise Coast.

A mile away, the marina and local businesses provide opportunities for charter boat fishing, jet boating, water skiing, and other water-based adventures. The area around Saginaw Bay proclaims some of the best fishing and hunting in Michigan. If your idea of good water sport is avoiding water hazards, nearby golf courses are open to the public. Deer Acres Storybook Amusement Park is only a few minutes away, featuring sculptured life-size Mother Goose characters and approachable deer and other wildlife.

The park also offers trains, antique car and safari rides, and other amusements. Bay City State Park, less than an hour’s drive south of the resort, provides ample recreational opportunities and a nature visit at the Jennison Nature Center. Permanent and changing exhibits depict life in the wetlands, and Tobico Marsh is a 1,700-acre refuge for more than 100 species of birds and migratory waterfowl. At the resort, paddleboats and pond fishing invite you for more leisurely water exploits. Resident deer and hiking trails provide the opportunity for slow-paced family nature outings. Spacious, shaded sites provide a great place for time out from everything else.

Saginaw Bay Resort is open year round. You can enjoy on-site indoor swimming and winter sports, including ice skating and cross-country skiing, as well as nearby snowmobile trails and ice fishing that challenge summertime water activities for top-ranking escapades. The focal point of Saginaw Bay Resort may be water-based activities, but the emphasis is always on families. So when you camp here, expect to be treated like family.
