Directions:
From east: Exit 85 off I-10, right on 331 2 miles to Hwy. 90, left 5 miles to Kings Lake Rd then turn right. Follow signs to resort. From west: Exit 70 off I-10, left on 285 .4 mile, right on Hwy. 90 east 8.5 miles to Kings Lake Rd. then turn left. Follow signs to resort. Roads leading to resort are paved.

Resort Profile

Sunset King Resort, in the northwest region of the Florida panhandle, offers its visitors a variety of services and forms of entertainment. The resort is located on beautiful Kings Lake which boasts 2-pound bluegill and crappie, catfish and trophy-sized largemouth bass (the lake record is 17 1/4 pounds). Here, visitors will find a lighted fishing pier on 325 feet of frontage, a beautiful pool area with adjoining bathhouse, a fenced playground, a clubhouse and a cafe over looking the pool area and lake. The Gulf of Mexico, with its world-famous beaches,is less than an hour away.

Walton County is one of the nation's fastest-growing counties, located along the sparkling Emerald Coast of northwest Florida. It serves the vibrant communities of South Walton, Sandestin, Destin, Panama City Beach, DeFuniak Springs, Paxton, Freeport and Choctawhatchee Bay.

The county has 26 miles of coastline on the Gulf of Mexico. Six miles of this is state park land that is open to the public. State parks located along the county beaches include Deer Lake, Grayton Beach and Topsail Hill.

Seaside Beach made giant splash in the architectural world when developer Robert Davis carved out a modern Victorian town with narrow streets, picket fences and homes arranged close together to encourage walking and neighborliness. It was the first of its kind, creating the model for towns across America. Seaside's "walk-to-anywhere" design is working to bring necessary shops and services to its residents and guests, including a post office and a school. Seaside, Florida's centerpeice, also contains a market, art galleries, florist, ice cream store and other small boutiques. Although many Seaside homes can be rented on a daily or weekly basis, the city also offers a motor court and B&B.

North of the city is Eglin Air Force Base, the training facility for Gen. Jimmy Doolittle’s “Raiders” during World War II. A monument at Valparaiso honors them for their contributions during the war. Just outside the west gate of the base, the Air Force Armament Museum exhibits restored aircraft from World War II through the Vietnam War.
