Resort Profile

With 235 full campsites on gently-sloping, heavily-shaded grounds about 100 yards from the banks of the scenic Styx River, this beautiful resort is less than an hour’s drive from Mobile.Adjacent to Water World, one of south Alabama’s few full-scale water theme amusement parks, the resort is in the heart of the Gulf Coast Delta region, and is also close to the Gulf of Mexico and the main attractions around Pensacola, Florida, just a few minutes away.

Mobile, to the west, offers dozens of museums and attractions including Fort Conde, the French fort that has fascinated historians since its destruction more than a century and a half ago. The reconstructed portion of the fort houses a museum, and is the official visitors center for the city of Mobile. Replicas of 18th-century French cannons and muskets are demonstrated by guides dressed as French soldiers.
One of the most popular attractions here is the U.S.S. Alabama Battleship which now rests in Mobile Bay. Visitors can board this mighty battleship that once was home to a 2,500-man crew that saw extensive action in World War II.

In Pensacola, a wide variety of attractions await the visitor, from miles of sugar-white beaches, historic districts and museums, to the excitement of winning at the dog track. Composed of 99 percent pure quartz, the uniquely-colored sugar-white sand covers the area’s three beaches at Navarre, Pensacola, and Perdido Key. Just a few miles from the beaches is more of Pensacola’s rich history. Pensacola’s three historic districts include the North Hill Preservation District, Palofax Historic District, and Seville Historic District. History of
a different sort is found at the National Museum of Aviation at the Naval Air Station Pensacola, where an authentic collection of Naval, Marine, and Coast Guard memorabilia is on display.
